Bauchi government set to commence 2014-2016 gratuity payment in batches Monday
Bauchi State Government has commenced the payment of the backlog of gratuities owed to pensioners in the state, following the initial release of N10 billion for the exercise.
A high-powered committee on the verification and payment of the backlog of gratuities has successfully completed payments to pensioners covering the years 2012 and 2013.
This was contained in a press statement by Comrade Mukthar Gidado, Special Adviser the state Governor, where the committee wishes to inform pensioners in both the state and local government services that the payment exercise will continue on Monday, 12th October 2026, with the commencement of payments for the 2014 batch.
According to the statement, the exercise will subsequently continue in batches, covering pensioners up to the year 2016, at the two designated payment points: the Local Government Audit and the State Audit offices respectively.
The Committee therefore urged all affected pensioners to remain calm and cooperate with the relevant authorities throughout the exercise.
The press statement further informed that the Committee assure pensioners and the general public that the Governor Bala Mohammed-led administration remains committed to clearing the backlog of gratuities owed to pensioners at both the State and Local Government levels.
The administration will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure that eligible pensioners receive their entitlements in a transparent, orderly, and timely manner, the committee assured.
