Anambra lawmaker Udeze holds quarterly constituency briefing at Ogbaru

The need for accountability in governance has been re-emphasized.
This came to the fore during the quarterly constituency briefing by the Member representing Ogbaru Constituency Two, at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Sir. Somtochukwu Udeze on his stewardship.
Our correspondent reports that for there to be grassroot development, the need for constant interface between the people and their representatives cannot be under emphasized.

It was in the light of this that the Chairman, Public Accounts Committee of the Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Ogbaru Constituency II, Sir. Udeze, gathered key stakeholders in the constituency including Presidents-General, traditional rulers, women leaders and others to give account of his stewardship and reach a resolution on critical issues and the way forward.
Sir. Udeze, paid a courtesy call on the traditional rulers in the constituency, at the Palace of Igwe Victor Okakwu in Ossomala before proceeding for the meeting, where he noted that though the times are challenging due to the Coronavirus pandemic and court litigation following his victory at the polls but it has not stopped him from performing his constitutional duties, which the quarterly briefing is part of.
He enumerated his achievements, which includes; provision of employment, agricultural development of communities, education endowment amongst others and commended the state government for its skill acquisition and healthcare programmes for Ndi Anambra.
The Chairman on the occasion, Mr. Victor Mbanefo, commended the foot steps taken by Sir. Udeze which he said would help strengthen democracy at the grassrroot level and achieve his objectives maximally.
Some stakeholders who spoke to newsmen including Mr. Richard Ijomah and Mrs. Ogorchukwu Chukwudifu, extolled Honourable Udeze for his humble leadership, noting that such platform is important for collective decision making.
Dr. Ikenna Alumona earlier took participants on a lecture centered on drug abuse, which has been pin pointed as a huge problem affecting the youth populace, and extending to their families.
