The Management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, has officially unveiled the DHS Mobile App to its amenity and retainership partners as part of its ongoing commitment to improving healthcare delivery through innovation and digital technology.

The application is designed to provide patients with faster, more convenient access to healthcare services by enabling them to book appointments and make payments electronically, eliminating the need for physical queues at registration and payment points. It also provides prescription and medication reminders and real-time communication with hospital support personnel, making healthcare services more accessible and efficient.

The introduction of the DHS Mobile App builds on the hospital’s recent deployment of the DHS SmartQueue System, a digital solution developed to improve patient flow, reduce congestion in clinics, shorten waiting times, and enhance the overall patient experience across the hospital.

Speaking during the demonstration and unveiling of the application, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin, described the initiative as another significant step in ATBUTH’s drive towards a fully digital and patient-centred healthcare system.

He noted that the hospital remains committed to deploying innovative technologies that improve efficiency, simplify access to healthcare services, and ensure patients receive quality care in a timely and seamless manner.

Professor Jibrin encouraged amenity and retainership partners, as well as other users of the hospital’s services, to embrace the platform, expressing confidence that the application would further strengthen service delivery and improve patients’ overall experience.

The demonstration attracted representatives of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Bastin HMO, Prepaid HMO, Independent System Operators (ISO), the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, as well as members of the public and hospital staff.
