Governor Radda inspects ongoing Batsari Secondary School project, commissions 2.3-Klm Batsari township road
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, inspected the ongoing Batsari Secondary School project and commissioned the newly completed 2.3-kilometre Batsari Township Road.
The Governor also commissioned the renovated Councillors’ Offices at the Batsari Local Government Secretariat to strengthen grassroots governance
It will be recalled that Governor Radda approved the construction of five secondary schools on Friday, 5th December, 2025, during his statewide engagement tour to Batsari.
During the visit, he paid a condolence visit to the District Head of Wagini and interacted with community stakeholders, party executives and youth groups.
On the same day, the Governor performed the groundbreaking for the 2.3-kilometre Batsari Township Road, a project executed by the Batsari Local Government Council.
During the inspection of the ongoing secondary school project, Governor Radda expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.
He stressed that education remains the cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda.
“Our commitment is not just to approve projects but to ensure they are completed to the highest standard. Every child, regardless of where they live, deserves access to quality education in a conducive learning environment,” Governor Radda stated.
The Governor reaffirmed that his administration would continue to invest in the construction of additional secondary schools and other educational facilities across Katsina State under the Building Your Future agenda.
He also assured residents that the state government would continue to recruit qualified teachers and provide adequate teaching and learning materials to strengthen the education sector.
Governor Radda later commissioned the Batsari Township Road, describing the project as a practical demonstration of effective collaboration between the state and local governments in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
He said the township road would improve mobility, facilitate commercial activities, enhance access to public facilities and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Batsari Local Government Area.
Governor Radda added that the renovated Councillors’ Offices would provide a more conducive environment for councillors to effectively discharge their legislative and oversight responsibilities.
“The development of our communities requires partnership. We will continue to encourage local governments to complement the efforts of the state government through impactful projects that improve the lives of our people,” the Governor said.
Governor Radda commended the Chairman of Batsari Local Government, Hon. Mannir Mu’azu, and members of the council for complementing the State Government’s development agenda through people-oriented projects.
He urged other local government councils across the state to emulate the initiative.
The Governor also called on residents to take ownership of the projects by protecting and maintaining them to ensure they continue to serve the community for many years.
Earlier, Chairman of Batsari Local Government, Hon. Mannir Mu’azu, expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for his unwavering support to the council.
He noted that the development projects, alongside the local government autonomy currently being enjoyed by councils in Katsina State, have significantly strengthened infrastructure development, service delivery and grassroots governance.
The event was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; members of the State Executive Council; traditional rulers; community leaders; party stakeholders; government officials; and other dignitaries.
