Kebbi settles N585.4m tuition fees for 100 students in India

Kebbi State Government has released the sum N585.4 million for the payment of tuition fees for 100 students of the state origin studying in various Universities in India.
Governor Nasir Idris gave the approval for payment, on submission made. to him by the Ministry for Higher Education.
The Commissioner in the Ministry, Isa Abubakar Tunga, told journalists in Birnin Kebbi, on Monday, that Governor Idris, as a professional teacher, attached paramount importance to acquisition of knowledge in all fields of study by the people of the state.
“All the students in India are studying science courses including Medicine. There are also 25 students in Egypt undergoing Medicine and Nursing Sciences.
“The students in Egypt are studying under Egyptian Scholarship, Kebbi Government only pays for their upkeep, accommodation, feeding and resident permits.
“Their file for payment has also been prepared and submitted to the Governor for approval, which he’ll do, immediately after his return from official engagement”, the Commissioner said.
Tunga described the Governor as the epitome of educational development in Kebbi.
