The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed concern over what he described as persistent harassment and intimidation, alleging that his activities are being deliberately frustrated by the current administration.
Speaking on his experiences, Obi claimed that the challenges he faces have made it increasingly difficult for him to carry out his daily engagements. According to him, the situation has become so serious that he fears for his safety.
“With the way this government is going, I may not even be alive to contest the 2027 election. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is deliberately frustrating. I face frustration every day. They recently locked my car at the airport,” Obi said.
The former Governor of Anambra State did not provide further details about the airport incident or identify those allegedly responsible.
His remarks come at a time when political parties and key stakeholders are beginning to position themselves ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the Federal Government regarding Obi’s allegations.
