Engr. Isibor Abhulimen: Dynamic leader with passion for excellence, achievement
Engr Isibor Benjamin Abhulimen is acertified professional engineer who is also the distinguished National President of the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers, the umbrella body of the auctioneering profession in Nigeria.
Since his auspicious election on the 14th of February 2026,
a deeply focused Engr Abhulimen has steered the affairs of the NAA with a resounding capacity for unvarnished professionalism, unrivalled technical competence, a keen sense of teamwork and camaraderie and a refreshing penchant for outstanding performance and exemplary achievement in all its positive ramifications.
This consensus building approach has been key to achieving the goals and objectives set by the dedicated Engr lsibor Abhulimen as no matter one’s expertise, experience, sincerity or commitment to duty, not much can be realised by working alone or with a clique oblivious of the opinions, desires or ideas of others. Indeed Engr lsibor as an avid fan of the time worn but trite mantra: ‘lf you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go with others’ .
Even as he was elected as National President by a lanslide at the NAA convention at Villa Park Suites Durumi, Abuja a perceptive Engr Abhulimen extended a hand of comradeship and cooperation to his co-contestants declaring that his victory was a triumph for all and sundry: ‘This is not about victory for one individual. It is a collective triumph for the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers. There is no victor, no vanquished. Together, we must build an association that works for all,” Engr Abhulimen affirmed
Leadership by example and not by precept is another positive mantra dear to the heart of the dependable Engr Abhulimen as he is keen to mentor his subordinates, associates and those that share his flair for hardwork, competence, resilience and perseverance against all odds.
In carrying out the onerous functions of his office which includes general supervision, direction and control of the association, upholding the quality of service of the auctioneering profession, enforcing the association’s byelaws, code of conduct and code of ethics and promoting the welfare and prosperity of its members amongst other duties, Engr Abhulimen
has motivated his entire staff by his instinctive optimism always taking the glass to be half full, not half empty.
The NAA helmsman operates a refreshingly inclusive and accommodating leadership style that is open to all manner of persons, ideas, opinions and perspectives, no matter how differing or dissenting as far as they are geared towards moving the NAA and the nation to the next level in the crucial scheme of things.
In moving the association forward, a dynamic Engr Abhulimen has also employed effective communication skills, working and liaising with different departments and establoshments both within and outside the NAA whilst managing multiple and varied tasks simultaneously through effective planning, organizing and prioritizing with a high sense of attention and detail to achieve assigned goals and targets.
Indeed the savvy Presido as Engr Abhulimen is fondly referred to, places great store on constant consultation, mutual dialogue and frequent interaction with his teeming members as well as the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the National Executive Council (NEC) to achieve the aims and objectives of the auctioneering profession.
The versatile Engr Abhulimen is a man of many portfolios, a Frontline lnvestment Consultant with the Edo State Government, a Valued Advisor to high profile financial bodies e.g. the Central Bank of Nigeria on the valuation, disposal, and recovery of industrial and movable assets and a Honoured Inductee into the prestigious Nigerian Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame.
Having performed superlatively in previous positions of responsibility in the NAA, it came as no surprise to many when Engr Isibor Abhulimen was overwhelmingly elected to the esteemed position of National President by the teeming professional auctioneers nationwide and his marking 130+ days as chief executive officer of NAA is worthy of celebration, felicitation and adulation!
