As the remains of the late Goebou (Madakin Shendam), Miskoom Kenneth Kwapsan Kwaptoe, (KK) are laid to rest, I join the people of Gamailand, the Shendam Traditional Council, the ruling family, his immediate family and all those who mourn this great loss in paying tribute to an exceptional elder and a man of remarkable character.

The news of his death came to me with immense sadness, but with total submission to the will of Almighty God, who called him home at the age of 71 after a protracted illness. Though his passing has created a deep void, we are comforted by the remarkable life he lived and the enduring legacies he left behind.

The late Goebou was a man who served the Chiefdom with uncommon integrity, loyalty and passion. As Madakin Shendam, he brought dignity, wisdom and commitment to his role and contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the Palace. His death is therefore not only a loss to the ruling family and the Shendam Traditional Council, but to Shendam Local Government, Plateau State and Nigeria.

His contributions to public service and political development remain worthy of commendation. As Secretary and later Chairman of Shendam Local Government, he distinguished himself through excellence, dedication and a deep commitment to the service of his people.

His record in public life remains a reference point for those who value integrity and responsible leadership.
Beyond his public service, Miskoom Kenneth Kwapsan Kwaptoe was a teacher, politician, farmer and mentor whose life was devoted to the development of people and society. He invested in the younger generation, grooming and mentoring many youths and offering them the guidance and wisdom that shaped their lives.

He was also a passionate advocate of the culture and traditions of the Gamai people. Through his support for cultural development and his commitment to the preservation of our heritage, he played an important role in the cultural renaissance of Gamailand.

As an elder statesman, his words of wisdom, counsel and guidance were deeply valued. His voice will be missed, his presence will be missed, and his contributions to the development of our people will remain indelible.

While we mourn the passing of this great son of Gamailand, we take solace in the fact that he lived a life of purpose, service and honour. He left behind legacies that will continue to inspire and be cherished by generations to come.

On behalf of my family and the people of Plateau South Senatorial District, I extend my deepest condolences to His Royal Majesty, Miskoom Martin Shaldas III, Long Gamai of Gamailand, the Shendam Traditional Council, the ruling family and the immediate family of the late Goebou.

May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and give all who mourn him the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
